The beauty of Charlaine Harris' Sookieverse is that instead of a co worker or family friend Sookie has relationships with the unknown. I'm a big fan of Charlaine Harris having read all of the other Sookie books and the Harper Connelly series. Book 10, Dead in the Family. Charlaine Harris' tenth Sookie Stackhouse novel Dead in the Family delves even deeper into the life of Sookie and the vampires, shapeshifters, werewolves, fairies and other creatures which surround her. Though True Blood is still going strong (hey, Billith!), Charlaine Harris' long-running book series chronicling the adventures of a mind-reading barmaid and her (many) supernatural lovers is finally coming to an end this May with Dead Ever After. I stopped at Book 10, which, I believe was Dead in the Family. My issue with Dead in the Family was how much of that book, which was thin in comparison to her previous volumes, centered around Eric educating Sookie on vampiric political-territorial terms. Friday, May 10, 2013 To begin, I need to point out that I have not (and will not) read the final book in the Sookie Stackhouse series (or, as the original series title holds, The Southern Vampire Mysteries). In the world of True Blood set in Bon Temps, Louisiana, the world has already known that vampires walk the earth among them openly (at night). They share that Niall is a prince of their royal family, who claims kinship to the sky, while Breandan is the son of Niall's dead older brother, Rogan, who claimed kinship to the sea.
